VANTOS OFFERS PRE-SHOW VIEW OF TECHNO SECURITY CONFERENCE 2008

VANTOS’ National Advisory Council Member Tony Reyes Recognized with Techno Security Award of the Year

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – June 2, 2008 – The critical business issues surrounding the Security industry will be highlighted at the Techno Security Conference 2008, May 31 – June 2, 2008 at the Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Also featured at the show, will be two of VANTOS’ National Advisory Council members, Tony Reyes, Founder & CEO of the ARC Group NY, and Howard Schmidt, President & CEO of R&H Consulting. Reyes will present “The Challenges of International Incident Response,” on Monday, June 2 from 1:30-3:00 pm. Schmidt will present the main keynote of the Hacker Halted track, “Staying Ahead of Cyber Criminals Amidst the Changing Landscape of Information Security.” Tony Reyes will also be honored with the prestigious Techno Security Award of the Year, which is given each year an industry professional that has made a significant impact on the Information Security and Digital Forensics industry and has given back to the professional community through their leadership, devotion and personal time.

Both Reyes and Schmidt have long and impressive careers in defense, law enforcement and corporate security. As members of VANTOS’ National Advisory Council, they have been instrumental in contributing to VANTOS’ essential practices, product, platform and Playbook strategy and vision.

Prior to founding R&H Security Consulting in 2005, Schmidt served as Chief Security Strategist for the US CERT Partners Program for the National Cyber Security Division through Carnegie Mellon University, in support of the Department of Homeland Security. He has also served as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Security Strategist for online auction giant eBay.

Reyes is a retired Detective with the New York City Police Department. Working on the Computer Crimes Squad of his department, he investigated computer intrusions, fraud, intellectual property, identity theft, child exploitation and software piracy. He also sat as an alternate member of New York Governor George E. Patiki’s Cyber-Security Task Force. In addition to his role as CEO of the ARC Group NY, Reyes serves as President of The High Technology Crime Investigations Program. Tony is also the Conference Chair of the Annual HTCIA Conference, to be held from October 20-22, where VANTOS is a Platinum Sponsor.
