KPMG
“Today’s business investigation extends beyond the responsibilities and capabilities of IT. With new regulations in data privacy, financial accounting, and civil procedures; the scope of the business investigation now includes multiple internal and external parties with higher standards for evidence collection and preservation. Data classification, preservation, and retention are key investigation challenges that many organizations are facing. KPMG is working with our clients to understand the industry and regulatory needs that will help to shape their business investigations process. Tools that serve to facilitate or automate leading business investigation practices may help organizations to understand these requirements more effectively.”

Investigative Essential Practices Program
In talking to our customers, one thing has become abundantly clear: the general Fortune 1000 business investigation is marked by its lack of technology solution and industry-validated processes and procedures. Everyone does their investigations differently and none follow what our partners describe as “Investigative Essential Practices”. This is risky considering that one misstep could jeopardize the defensibility of an investigation and lead to a corporation suffering unnecessary loss, even a catastrophic outcome.
The reason that corporations do not follow this set of practices is that, at present, none exist. Developing a set of essential practices would fill a major need as it would not only allow enterprises to conduct defensible investigations in a repeatable way, but it would also begin to create a community of practitioners who for the first time could communicate with their peers – inside and outside the walls of the corporation – in a universal language.
VANTOS, in collaboration with KPMG, has developed Investigative Essential Practices which are validated and supported by experts such as audit, legal, investigative, and forensic specialists. We are driving the Investigative Essential Practices (IEPs) around our technology platform, becoming the de facto way the world conducts business investigations. With our partners, we offer educational workshops, seminars and whitepapers, providing proof points and tangible assets of direct value to our customers. These efforts have cemented VANTOS as the predominant thought leader in the enterprise investigation market.
